August 12, 2024 Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the new academic year at Lorraine H. Whitlock ES! We hope this letter finds you and your family well-rested and ready for an exciting year ahead. We are thrilled to announce that over the summer, our school has undergone significant renovations to enhance the learning environment for our students. Thanks to the generous support of our community and the hard work of our staff, we are proud to introduce our newly modernized building. This renovation includes a new library, gym, outdoor classroom space, new classrooms, upgraded facilities, and technology improvements. In addition, a child development center (CDC) is included within our school. Stay tuned for more information on how you can enroll your babies, 6 weeks to 2yrs old, as well.
The improvements are designed to create a more comfortable and inviting space and to better support our students' educational needs. We are confident that these enhancements will contribute to a positive and productive school year for everyone. As we embark on this new chapter, we want to remind you of a few important dates and events: 
Important Dates: Family Meet and Greet: Friday, August 23, 2024, from 2:30-4:00pm
First Day of School (Kindergarten - 5th Grade): Monday, August 26, 2024
First Day of School (Pre-K): Thursday, August 29, 2024
Back-to-School Night: Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:30-6:30pm
Aftercare Begins: Tuesday, September 3, 2024

To attend school, students must be current with their immunizations. Immunization compliance is documented by submitting a completed Universal Health Certificate to the school at the time of enrollment. Medical forms can be accessed here. These should be turned in to the school as part of the enrollment process, and any updated forms throughout the school year should be submitted to the school nurse.
