At Aiton Elementary School, we work to make sure every student feels loved, challenged, and prepared to positively influence society and thrive in life. In School Year 2017-2018, Aiton Elementary School’s leaders and staff are focused on three big areas:
- Literacy: To increase the number of students who score on Level 4 and 5 of the PARCC assessment, teachers will ensure that Guided Reading groups meet daily for the lowest performing students in each class.
- Social Emotional Learning: To maintain student satisfaction rates above 90% at
the end of the school year, teachers and students will utilize the character development language from lessons that are held weekly on each grade level.
- Grade 3-5 Boys: To increase number of male students who score on Level 4 and 5 and decrease the number of male students who score Level 1 and 2 on the PARCC assessment, we will implement an after-school tutoring program in math and literacy.
